Former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, his wife Christina, their son Ryder, and daughter Emma were tragically killed in a private plane crash at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina on December 19, 2025.

According to CBS News, moments before the crash, Christina texted her mother saying, "We're in trouble, emergency landing," followed by an SOS alert from her phone, indicating the severity of the situation.

The Cessna C550, which crashed while attempting to land, carried seven people in total, including two others, Craig Wadsworth and Dennis and Jack Dutton, all of whom lost their lives. Witnesses reported seeing the plane engulfed in flames, and debris was scattered over a nearby golf course.

The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the crash, having recovered a cockpit voice recorder to determine the cause. Cathy Grossu, Christina's mother, expressed her devastation, describing the family as "good people" who lived life to the fullest.

Tributes from the racing community have poured in, with NASCAR remembering Biffle as not just a champion driver but a friend to many, highlighting the deep emotional impact of this loss.
