Tesla has significantly improved its reliability rankings according to the latest assessments. For the first time, Tesla has cracked Consumer Reports' annual top 10 auto brands list, coming in at number 10, up from 18th the previous year.

This notable shift is attributed to Tesla refining its vehicle quality and affordability, as stated by Jake Fisher, Consumer Reports' senior director of automotive testing, who noted that Tesla makes the most reliable electric vehicles now.

Tesla's Model S, which hasn't been redesigned in 15 years, has benefited from long production cycles that allow for ongoing refinement. In reliability alone, Tesla scored 50, placing 9th overall, a stark contrast to Rivian, which landed in last place with a score of 24.

Despite current models scoring well, older Tesla vehicles from five to ten years ago rank poorly in reliability, indicating a disparity in long-term durability. This achievement comes as Tesla expands its product lineup, launching budget-friendly Model 3 and Model Y variants and delivering a refreshed Model Y Performance with updated internals and chassis improvements.
