Amazon Implements Holiday Delivery Changes Amid FTC Settlement

Amazon is implementing significant changes to its delivery processes as the holiday shopping season approaches. According to Staten Island Advance, the company is enhancing its Same-Day Delivery service, assuring customers that items marked with 'Arrives before Christmas' will be delivered on time.

However, Amazon advises shoppers to purchase early on Christmas Eve, as delivery windows may sell out due to high demand. Additionally, millions of Amazon Prime customers are beginning to see refunds from a $2.5 billion settlement with the Federal Trade Commission, as reported by the Oregonian.

This settlement stems from allegations of deceptive tactics related to Prime subscriptions, where customers faced difficulties in canceling their memberships. Eligible customers may receive up to $51, with payments being processed until December 24.

Amazon is actively striving to clarify its sign-up and cancellation processes while navigating these legal challenges and enhancing customer service during the peak shopping period.
