The report highlights AWS's ongoing dominance in 2025 with numerous outages impacting the crypto industry, including incidents in April and October that affected major exchanges and financial platforms, revealing the heavy reliance of crypto companies on centralized infrastructure.

Critics from the crypto industry, such as Jamie Elkaleh, chief marketing officer at Bitget Wallet, argue that while decentralization has advanced at the ledger layer, it has not yet achieved similar progress at the infrastructure layer, underscoring the importance of developing decentralized solutions to reduce dependence on platforms like AWS.
