Qualcomm has launched significant updates to enhance gaming performance for its Snapdragon X Elite laptops, as reported by Engadget. The introduction of the Snapdragon Control Panel marks a pivotal moment for gaming on Arm chipsets, offering features similar to those found in NVIDIA and AMD's GPU management tools.

This software includes automatic game detection, per-game settings, and regular updates for Adreno GPU drivers, which Qualcomm claims have improved performance for over one hundred games since last year.

A critical advancement is the enhancement of the x86 emulation layer, with Microsoft's Prism Emulator now capable of supporting Advanced Vector Extensions, or AVX, on Qualcomm chips. Future devices will even include direct support for AVX2, which is set to debut with the upcoming Snapdragon X2 Elite laptops, expected to be showcased at CES.

Qualcomm is also addressing a previously noted challenge related to kernel-level anti-cheat technology, which had hindered the ability to play multiplayer games on its devices. Notably, Fortnite is now available on Snapdragon devices thanks to Epic Online Services' anti-cheat support.

Qualcomm is actively collaborating with leading anti-cheat providers such as Tencent and Roblox to expand multiplayer game compatibility. These updates reflect Qualcomm's commitment to enhancing the gaming experience on its platforms and bridging the gap between Arm-based architecture and traditional x86 gaming environments.
