T-Mobile is significantly refreshing its 5G Home Internet service, introducing new pricing tiers and added benefits aimed at enhancing customer experience. Previously, T-Mobile offered a single plan called Rely, providing unlimited 5G data for $50 per month with AutoPay. This plan now serves as the base tier, which includes what T-Mobile describes as a high-performance gateway, presumably the Sercomm TMO-G4AR or equivalent. However, it's noted that this plan imposes artificial speed limits despite advertising fast speeds.

The new structure features two additional tiers: Amplified and All-In. The Amplified plan is priced at $60 per month and includes a new Wi-Fi 7 gateway, which is expected to deliver faster 5G internet speeds—30 percent faster median speeds compared to the Rely plan. On the other hand, the All-In plan, costing $70 per month, offers the same Wi-Fi 7 gateway but adds subscriptions to Hulu and Paramount Plus, alongside the TechEdge Suite. This suite boasts a Wi-Fi 7 mesh extender for improved home coverage, 24/7 tech support, and a hardware upgrade for the 5G gateway after three years, in addition to an advanced cybersecurity package.

According to T-Mobile, typical download speeds for the Amplified and All-In plans range from 134 to 415 Mbps, with upload speeds averaging between 12 to 55 Mbps. All plans come with a five-year price lock guarantee, unlimited data, and no annual contracts. Furthermore, if customers already have a T-Mobile voice line, they can receive a $15 discount on the monthly rates, making the Rely plan as low as $35 per month.

While T-Mobile promotes unlimited data, it's essential for customers to be aware of potential data prioritization. Heavy data users, those exceeding 1.2 terabytes in a billing cycle, may experience deprioritization, altering their service quality during peak times. The rollout of these new plans begins on November 13, with eligible new customers able to receive up to a $300 prepaid virtual debit card for switching to T-Mobile.

This refresh comes at a time when competition in the home broadband market is intensifying, particularly as T-Mobile continues to carve out a niche with its 5G Home Internet offerings. The company's strategy showcases its commitment to expanding its wireless infrastructure and providing more robust home connectivity options as consumer demand for high-speed internet continues to grow.
