Jolla has launched a new Linux phone, now available for pre-order, with a production threshold of 2,000 units needed before January 4, 2024. As of the latest update, 1,721 pre-orders have already been received, with a discounted price of 499 dollars, down from a normal price range of 599 to 699 dollars.

The device is expected to be delivered in the first half of 2026. The new Jolla Phone is powered by a high-performing Mediatek 5G System on Chip, featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, expandable up to 2TB with a microSDXC card.

It sports a 6.36-inch FullHD AMOLED display with approximately 390 pixels per inch, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and Gorilla Glass protection. The phone includes a user-replaceable 5,500mAh battery, 4G and 5G support with dual nano-SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC capabilities.

It also features a 50MP wide camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera, and a front-facing wide-lens selfie camera. A fingerprint reader is integrated into the power key, and the device includes a user-changeable back cover, an RGB indication LED, and a configurable physical Privacy Switch to disable the microphone, Bluetooth, or Android apps.

The Jolla Phone will run on Sailfish OS, which supports Android applications, and promises a minimum of five years of support with no tracking or hidden analytics. The manufacturing and sales will occur in Europe, with initial sales markets including the EU, UK, Switzerland, and Norway, while the device is designed for global roaming compatibility.
