Arizonans can look forward to witnessing a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch on Wednesday, December 10, in the early morning hours between 1:54 and 5:54 a.m. Mountain Standard Time. The launch will take place from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base in Santa Barbara County, California, and is set to deliver 27 Starlink internet satellites into low-Earth orbit.
Observers in Phoenix should look to the south to see the bright contrail created by the rocket as it ascends, which may be visible to the southeast for most of its flight. If you prefer to stay indoors, the launch can also be watched live on X @SpaceX.
The Falcon 9 rocket, which costs $69.75 million per launch, boasts a 99.4% success rate and has completed over 500 missions since its first flight in 2018. The Starlink service, developed by SpaceX, aims to provide internet access to areas lacking cable connectivity and has been utilized by airlines and cruise lines, as well as during national disasters.
Additionally, another Starlink mission is scheduled for late Friday night, December 12, to early Saturday morning, December 13.
