SandboxAQ has entered into a five-year agreement with the Department of War Chief Information Officer to enhance cyber defense and facilitate the transition to Post-Quantum Cryptography. This partnership aims to accelerate the discovery and inventory of cryptographic assets within the department's environment, marking a crucial step in managing the risks posed by quantum computing and advanced cyber threats.

Utilizing SandboxAQ's AQtive Guard platform, the Department of War will achieve comprehensive, automated cryptographic discovery and inventory, ensuring continuous visibility into cryptographic assets, dependencies, and vulnerabilities.

The deployment follows a successful demonstration of quantum-resistant cryptography capabilities in a prototype project conducted with the Defense Information Systems Agency's QRC PKI program. SandboxAQ's CEO, Jack Hidary, highlighted the agreement as a testament to the government's commitment to enhancing cryptographic standards in light of AI-driven and quantum threats, reinforcing the importance of resilient defense systems.

This initiative comes amid increasing urgency for federal agencies to modernize their security infrastructures, especially with predictions that quantum computers could compromise existing cryptographic systems as early as 2029.
