Full Transcript
Stord has committed $40 million over five to ten years to expand and modernize its largest shipping center, located in Hebron, Kentucky. This facility, which Stord acquired in 2024 as part of its purchase of Pitney Bowes' e-commerce fulfillment business, spans 520,000 square feet and is the largest in Stord's network.
It ships more than 5 million packages annually and features climate-controlled storage, a pick mezzanine with 120,000 square feet of additional space, pallet racking, and robotic automation. The company plans to lease another 525,000 square foot warehouse with 49 dock doors, enhancing its ability to offer value-added services like kit assembly and embroidery.
Strategically located near two interstate highways and the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport, the facility is well-positioned near major air transport hubs for Amazon and DHL Express. Stord aims to outfit the building with automated handling equipment and proprietary AI-capable warehouse and transportation management systems.
The current Hebron fulfillment center employs over 300 individuals and 300 contractors, and during the Black Friday-Cyber Monday period, order processing there doubled year over year, indicating significant growth in demand for e-commerce logistics.
