Social Media's Role in Amplifying Antisemitism Among Youth

At Branham High School in San Jose, a small group of students formed a human swastika on the football field, an act that has ignited outrage within the Silicon Valley community. A viral image of the incident, which included an antisemitic quote from Adolf Hitler, was posted on social media before being deleted.

Principal Beth Silbergeld condemned the act as disturbing and unacceptable, stating that actions targeting Jewish students have no place on campuses. The students involved have been identified, but their names will remain confidential due to federal law.

The San Jose Police Department has been notified, and the school district plans to collaborate with the Anti-Defamation League, the Bay Area Jewish Coalition, and the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Bay Area to address the incident.
