The tech industry continues to face significant layoffs in 2025, with over 22,000 job cuts reported so far this year, following more than 150,000 layoffs across 549 companies last year, according to TechCrunch.
In February alone, 16,084 employees were laid off as many companies pivot towards AI and automation. Major players like Amazon and Microsoft have made substantial cuts, with Amazon eliminating around 14,000 roles and Microsoft planning to cut 9,000 jobs.
