Specific tools reported included chatbots or virtual assistants at 61 percent, AI writing and editing tools at 36 percent, and AI coding assistants at 14 percent. This increase in AI usage comes amid ongoing discussions about federal regulation of AI.
Recently, President Trump issued an executive order to impose a national standard on AI, which has led to divisions within the Republican Party regarding the preemption of state laws. Concerns have also been raised about the environmental impact of the AI boom and its implications for the workforce.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy indicated that the company's reliance on AI may reduce its total corporate workforce in the coming years. The Gallup survey was conducted from August 5 to 19, with 23,068 U.S. adults participating and a margin of error of one percentage point.
