Tyler Seguin Expected to Miss Season with Injury

The Dallas Stars are facing a significant setback as forward Tyler Seguin is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL, according to ESPN. Seguin, who sustained the injury during a game against the New York Rangers, was left in pain after a collision with defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov.

Coach Glen Gulutzan confirmed that the team received disappointing news regarding Seguin's knee, noting the mounting injuries the team is dealing with. Goaltender Jake Oettinger expressed the impact of losing Seguin, stating, "He's an irreplaceable player for our team," and emphasized the need for the rest of the team to step up.

Seguin, 33, has been a critical player for the Stars since joining the team in 2013, and his absence will necessitate lineup adjustments. Nathan Bastian filled Seguin's spot in the lineup for the Stars' game against the New Jersey Devils.

Meanwhile, the team is hopeful for the return of center Matt Duchene, who has been sidelined with an upper-body injury, which could help mitigate the loss of Seguin. Gulutzan mentioned that players like Duchene and Mavrik Bourque will need to seize the opportunity created by Seguin's absence, as the Stars aim to maintain their playoff aspirations amidst ongoing injuries.
