The Pittsburgh Steelers have made notable roster adjustments by re-signing pass rusher DeMarvin Leal while dealing with the absence of wide receiver Scotty Miller, who is set to miss his third consecutive game.

According to the Harrisburg Patriot-News, Leal has been re-signed to the practice squad just two days after being cut from the active roster. This move comes as the Steelers navigate injuries and performance issues within the team.

Leal, a third-round pick from the 2022 NFL Draft, had previously been released in August, only to return to the practice squad and subsequently be elevated to the active roster following an injury to teammate Alex Highsmith in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Despite being praised by coaches for his performance during training camp, Leal has struggled to make a significant impact during the season and is now buried on the depth chart behind rookie Jack Sawyer.

The Steelers currently have four outside linebackers on their active roster, with Leal and Julius Welschof on the practice squad. Meanwhile, the situation with Scotty Miller is more concerning. According to Steelers Now, Miller will miss his third straight game due to a broken pinky that he sustained during practice in Week 8.

Although he has begun the process of returning, he was ruled out for the upcoming Week 10 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Miller had been seen practicing with a splint but remained limited, not participating fully in drills.

His absence has created an opportunity for rookie KeShawn Williams, who has stepped up in the lineup. Over the past four games, Williams has made a name for himself on special teams, recording nine punt returns for 101 yards and ten kick returns for 248 yards, while also contributing on offense.

The Steelers are clearly adjusting to the challenges presented by injuries and performance inconsistencies, as they look to solidify their roster ahead of critical games in the upcoming weeks.
