Steelers Offensive Line Reshuffle: Injuries Lead to Roster Changes
Full Transcript
The Pittsburgh Steelers have made significant roster changes following the placement of offensive tackle Calvin Anderson on injured reserve due to a knee injury. According to Pro Football Talk, Anderson's injury is particularly impactful as the Steelers have already lost three offensive tackles in recent weeks, including starting left tackle Broderick Jones, who is also on injured reserve with a neck injury, and Andrus Peat, who is currently in concussion protocol after leaving the Week 14 game against the Ravens.
In response to these injuries, the Steelers have signed offensive tackle Dylan Cook from the practice squad to the active roster, as reported by Behind the Steel Curtain. Cook made his NFL debut in the Ravens game, playing 13 snaps without allowing a sack, and may be called to start if Peat is unable to play.
Additionally, the Steelers have signed veteran tackle David Sharpe to the practice squad, replacing running back Trey Sermon, as noted by Steelers Now. Sharpe brings experience from previous stints with several NFL teams, but has not been a consistent starter, making just six starts in his career.
The upcoming games will be critical for the Steelers as they navigate these injuries and reshuffle their offensive line just before the final stretch of the season.
