According to reports from Deadspin and Behind the Steel Curtain, Metcalf was removed from the team flight home to seek medical evaluation at a local hospital, where he spent the night in Baltimore.

The team's medical staff acted out of an abundance of caution to rule out any internal injuries, especially after Metcalf took a hard hit during the game. Despite this setback, he had an impressive performance, recording seven catches for 148 yards, marking his best game since joining the Steelers.
