The New England Patriots clinched their first playoff berth since 2021 with a thrilling 28-24 comeback victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night. Rookie quarterback Drake Maye showcased his resilience by leading New England back from an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

After trailing 24-13, Maye threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Williams and successfully converted a two-point attempt to Rhamondre Stevenson, narrowing the gap to 24-21 with just over nine minutes left.

The Patriots then drove 89 yards for the winning touchdown, capped by a 21-yard rush from Stevenson with 2:07 remaining. Maye finished the game with a career-high 380 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, completing 12 of 14 passes for 139 yards in the decisive fourth quarter.

The victory not only secured a playoff spot but also placed the Patriots at 12-3, tied for the best record in the AFC with the Denver Broncos, who currently hold the tiebreaker. On the other hand, the Ravens, who lost Lamar Jackson to a back injury in the second quarter, are now struggling with playoff elimination looming, currently sitting at 7-8.

Jackson's injury was significant as he left the game after being kneed in the back, further complicating Baltimore's playoff hopes. Tyler Huntley stepped in but was unable to secure the win, as the Ravens' decision to limit Derrick Henry's involvement during crucial drives drew criticism.

With the Patriots now preparing for a matchup against the New York Jets, the Ravens face an uphill battle needing victories in their final two games to keep their playoff aspirations alive.
