Vikings safeties coach Michael Hutchings is leaving Minnesota to become the defensive coordinator at Cal. According to Pro Football Talk, Hutchings, a San Francisco native, is returning to the West Coast to join Tosh Lupoi's staff.
Hutchings, who played and coached at USC, has been with the Vikings for three seasons, serving as the assistant defensive backs coach in 2023. He has previously coached at Oregon and Western Kentucky. Hutchings and Lupoi were high school teammates at De La Salle High School in Concord, California.
