Injury Concerns: Commanders' Jayden Daniels and Zach Ertz Leave Game
Full Transcript
In a dismal outing for the Washington Commanders, quarterback Jayden Daniels and tight end Zach Ertz both left the game against the Minnesota Vikings due to injuries. Daniels, who recently returned from a dislocated elbow, was injured again after a hard hit while pursuing a turnover in the third quarter.
According to Deadspin, he was blasted by Vikings defensive back Isaiah Rodgers and landed on the same left elbow that had sidelined him for weeks. He was seen in the medical tent and was listed as questionable to return.
Meanwhile, Ertz suffered a serious injury after attempting to catch a pass, where he was hit in the leg by Vikings safety Jay Ward. This resulted in an emotional scene as Ertz was carted off the field, visibly shaken.
Outkick reported that he was seen sobbing into a towel as he received support from teammates. The Commanders ultimately lost to the Vikings 31-0, marking their eighth consecutive defeat this season, as they continue to struggle at 3-10 in a season filled with challenges.
The future for both players, especially Ertz at 35 years old, now hangs in the balance as the team prepares for their upcoming game against the New York Giants.
