Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to practice on Thursday, just one day after missing a workout due to knee discomfort. Jackson stated that his knee is 'fine' and expressed confidence in his readiness for the upcoming game against the Cleveland Browns.
He emphasized the importance of the matchup, acknowledging the need to stay aware of the Browns' star pass rusher Myles Garrett, saying, 'Try to get as much hands and objects on him as possible.' Jackson absorbed several hard hits during the Ravens' 27-19 victory over the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday but managed to complete the game.
Offensive coordinator Todd Monken commented positively on Jackson's condition, noting that he looked 'great' during Thursday's practice. Previously, Jackson had missed three games due to a hamstring injury, with Cooper Rush and Tyler Huntley filling in during his absence.
This season, Jackson has completed 70.1% of his passes for 1,249 yards, recording 15 touchdowns against just one interception in six starts. He has also contributed 216 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown to the Ravens' efforts.
Jackson indicated that he is prepared for any increased blitzing from opposing defenses, saying, 'That's cool with me. We'll see.' Despite Jackson's return, several key Ravens players, including wide receiver Rashod Bateman, running back Justice Hill, and linebacker Jay Higgins, were not participating in practice due to injuries.
The Ravens currently hold a 4-5 record, making this divisional matchup critical for their playoff aspirations, especially with the Browns struggling at 2-7. As the Ravens gear up for this important game, Jackson's health and performance will be pivotal to their success.
