Jeff Saturday Critiques Colts' Recent Struggles
Full Transcript
Jeff Saturday was ruthless in his criticism about the Indianapolis Colts' current slide. According to Horseshoe Heroes, Saturday noted that the team, which started the season with a 7-1 record, may not be as good as their record suggests.
He pointed out that the Colts are 6-0 against teams with losing records but have struggled significantly against teams with at least .500 records, posting a 2-4 record in those matchups. On ESPN's Get Up show, Saturday remarked that losing to the Texans was a 'bad sign' and emphasized that when Jonathan Taylor is shut down, the Colts look like a completely different team.
He also highlighted that head coach Shane Steichen's decisions, particularly his use of Taylor, have contributed to the team's difficulties. Against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12, Taylor had only seven carries in the second half, which Saturday criticized as a misstep.
With no remaining games against teams with losing records, the Colts face a tough road ahead if they want to secure a playoff spot, needing to win at least three of their last five games. The report states that while the Colts have the potential for excellence and a deep playoff run, they must first prove it against stronger opponents.
