Houston Texans Dominate Arizona Cardinals 40-20 in Week 15
Full Transcript
The Houston Texans dominated the Arizona Cardinals with a 40-20 victory in Week 15. Special teams played a pivotal role, highlighted by Jaylin Noel's impressive 39-yard kickoff return that set the tone early in the game.
Following a touchdown pass from CJ Stroud to Nico Collins, Jamal Hill forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, allowing the Texans to quickly extend their lead to 10-0 before Arizona even had a chance to run an offensive play.
Houston's coverage units were exceptional, consistently limiting the Cardinals to poor field position throughout the game. Stroud completed 22 of 29 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns, while running back Jawhar Jordan, a practice squad call-up, rushed for 101 yards on 15 carries, becoming the first Texan to surpass 100 rushing yards this season.
Despite the offensive fireworks, the Texans' defense struggled to contain Cardinals tight end Trey McBride, who recorded 12 receptions for 134 yards and two touchdowns. This performance raises concerns as the Texans prepare for upcoming matchups against strong tight ends, including Brock Bowers of the Colts.
While Houston celebrated their third straight winning season at 9-5, their playoff positioning remains precarious, as they did not gain ground in the standings amidst victories from the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Texans will next face the Las Vegas Raiders at home on December 17, 2025, at 3:25 p.m. CST, with coverage on CBS and Paramount+.
