Drew Brees Joins Fox Sports as NFL Analyst

Fox Sports has officially parted ways with Mark Sanchez following his involvement in a violent incident that led to criminal charges, according to reports from multiple outlets. The network confirmed that Sanchez is no longer with them, with a spokesperson stating there will be no further comments on the matter at this time.

Sanchez was previously sidelined after being stabbed during a fight in an Indianapolis alley, where he was in town to cover the October 5 game between the Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders. Following his hospitalization, Brady Quinn stepped in to replace Sanchez for that game.

In light of this situation, Drew Brees, the former New Orleans Saints quarterback, has been hired as Sanchez's successor and is expected to team up with play-by-play commentator Adam Amin. Brees, who retired from the NFL after the 2020 season, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously worked with NBC Sports and done studio analysis for Fox and ESPN.

He also served as an analyst for Netflix's international game last Christmas. Brees is signed with Fox Sports to call games through at least the 2026 season. Meanwhile, Sanchez is facing serious legal troubles, having been charged with felony battery along with multiple misdemeanors, which could result in a prison sentence of one to six years if convicted. He has pleaded not guilty in Marion County, Indiana.
