The Miami Dolphins showcased their dominance in a decisive 34-10 victory over the New York Jets, marking their fourth consecutive win. According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins' defense had its best performance of the season, not allowing any touchdowns, with the Jets' only score coming from a 78-yard punt return by Isaiah Washington.
The Dolphins limited the Jets to just 62 yards rushing and recorded six sacks, led by Zach Sieler with 2.5 sacks. Offensively, the Dolphins started strong, scoring three touchdowns on their first three drives, including Tua Tagovailoa's connection with Jaylen Waddle and a rushing touchdown by DeVon Achane, who rushed for 92 yards before leaving with a rib injury.
Coach Mike McDaniel praised the offensive line's performance, which contributed to a total of 241 rushing yards. Jaylen Wright stepped up in Achane's absence, rushing for 107 yards and scoring his first NFL touchdown.
The Dolphins defense also excelled with three interceptions, highlighting their growth as a unit. Despite Tagovailoa's struggles in the passing game, completing only 40% of his passes after a hot start, the Dolphins' overall team effort secured a convincing win.
They now look forward to their upcoming match against the Pittsburgh Steelers with hopes of continuing their winning streak and improving their playoff chances.
