Full Transcript
The Denver Broncos have made significant roster adjustments ahead of their critical matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. According to Pro Football Talk, the Broncos signed offensive tackle Geron Christian off the Cowboys' practice squad, bolstering their offensive line.
Christian, a third-round pick from the 2018 NFL Draft, has played in 63 games, starting 25, during his NFL career. He has experience with multiple franchises, including recent stints with the Rams and Browns, although he has not appeared in a game this season.
This signing comes as the Broncos look to strengthen their lineup and enhance their performance as they strive for a playoff spot. In a series of corresponding moves, the Broncos waived wide receiver Michael Bandy and placed inside linebacker Karene Reid on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury he suffered against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Bandy had been activated to the 53-man roster following a concussion that sidelined fellow wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. Reid was active for 59 percent of Denver's special teams snaps over the first ten games.
Additionally, the Broncos released offensive tackle Marques Cox from their practice squad. Mile High Report adds that with Alex Singleton expected to miss time due to a recent cancer diagnosis, the Broncos are thin at inside linebacker, leaving Dre Greenlaw and Justin Strnad as the only players with considerable experience at the position.
The team is considering potential call-ups from the practice squad, such as Jordan Turner or Levelle Bailey, to fill the void. Furthermore, there are discussions regarding placing running back J.K. Dobbins on injured reserve after he was injured late in the game against the Raiders, which would be a significant blow to an offense that has struggled to find consistency.
As the Broncos prepare for the Chiefs, these roster moves reflect their urgency to optimize their lineup and tackle the challenges posed by their upcoming opponent.
