Browns Roster Adjustments Amid Injury Challenges
Full Transcript
The Cleveland Browns have made significant roster adjustments in response to injuries impacting key players. According to Dawgs By Nature, the team signed offensive tackle Jeremiah Byers off the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad, running back Trayveon Williams from the Los Angeles Chargers' practice squad, and cornerback Tre Avery from their own practice squad.
Byers, who is 6-foot-4 and 320 pounds, could step in as a backup with right tackle Jack Conklin still dealing with a concussion. Williams, a versatile player who previously spent time with the Bengals and Chargers, may see action with Jerome Ford now on injured reserve.
Avery, primarily a special teams player, has contributed in six games this season. In a corresponding move, the team waived safety Christopher Edmonds, who played mostly on special teams this year. Additionally, they signed defensive tackle Maurice Hurst II to the practice squad, reuniting with a player who has a history with the Browns and has recorded significant stats over his career, including two sacks and an interception in 2024.
These adjustments are crucial for the Browns as they strive to remain competitive in the final weeks of the season amid ongoing injury challenges.
