Former NFL star Laveranues Coles has made a significant career transition from professional football to law enforcement. According to the Harrisburg Patriot-News, Coles, who is well-known for his time with teams like the New York Jets, Washington Redskins, and the Cincinnati Bengals, has recently completed police academy training and has officially become a police officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

This milestone was celebrated on social media by both the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and his partner, Tiffany Upshaw, who expressed her pride in Coles' accomplishment. She shared an Instagram post stating, 'Congratulations to my love, @lcoles87! From a phenomenal 11-season career playing across 30 fields to stepping into one new field...the line of duty.

We love you, are beyond proud of you, and will always support you in this next chapter!' Coles also received congratulations from the Florida State athletics department, where he was a standout player before entering the NFL.

During his college football career, he helped lead the Seminoles to a national championship. Coles was selected in the third round of the 2000 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. He had a successful career, making the Pro Bowl in 2003 with the Redskins, where he caught 82 passes for over 1,200 yards and six touchdowns in that season alone.

Over his 10-year NFL career, Coles recorded 674 receptions, 8,609 receiving yards, and 49 touchdowns, highlighting his impact on the field. His final NFL season was with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2009.

Now, as he embarks on this new chapter as a police officer, Coles serves as an inspiring example of how athletes can successfully transition into public service roles, showcasing a commitment to community and safety.
