The Buffalo Bills have signed veteran kicker Michael Badgley to their practice squad after head coach Sean McDermott announced that Matt Prater would be week-to-week with a quad injury. The team made the announcement on Tuesday, releasing cornerback M.J.

Devonshire to make room for Badgley. Badgley, who is 30 years old, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and has played for six teams over eight years, including the Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, and Detroit Lions.

In 72 games played, he has converted on 108 of 130 field goal attempts, achieving an 83 percent success rate, with a long of 59 yards. He has also successfully converted 186 of 196 extra points, which is a 94.8 percent success rate.

Badgley’s most recent performance with the Colts saw him go 10 of 11 on field goal attempts but he missed three of 21 extra point attempts, leading to his release on December 2. Badgley is expected to see his first action with Buffalo in their upcoming road matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

A strong performance could secure his position on the practice squad while Prater recovers from his injury.
