Sean McDermott was walking on a snowy field inside Highmark Stadium before a recent comeback win over the Cincinnati Bengals when he noticed a fan-made sign on the video board that read: Get your seat that's full of these memories.
With only two regular-season games remaining at Highmark Stadium before the Buffalo Bills move to a new venue in 2026, McDermott encouraged fans to savor their final moments in the stadium. He stated, "Certainly, I'm sure a lot of people are looking forward to the new stadium.
I understand that. But let's not rush to get over there. I think it's special to be here and enjoy these last few moments that we all have together in here." The Bills, currently the No. 5 seed, improved to 6-1 at home this season, with upcoming games against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17 and the New York Jets in Week 18.
McDermott reflected on the generational memories created in the stadium, saying, "You think about all the different people who have sat in those seats over the years. Some seats, I'm sure, have stayed in the family through multiple generations and how special that is." In the game against the Bengals, quarterback Josh Allen set a franchise record with a 40-yard touchdown run, contributing to four touchdowns overall, leading the Bills back from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter.
McDermott's message resonates with fans as they prepare for the transition to a new home while cherishing the history and memories at Highmark Stadium.
