Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray's practice window remains closed as he continues to recover from a foot injury. According to Deadspin, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon announced that the team will not open Murray's practice window this week.

Murray has been sidelined since October 5th, when he suffered the injury. Although he was eligible this week to begin a 21-day practice window to potentially return from injured reserve, Gannon stated, 'He's not quite there yet.' This marks a challenging period for the Cardinals, as Murray last appeared in a game on October 1st, during a narrow 22-21 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 5.

Following that game, Murray attempted to practice through the injury but was ultimately placed on injured reserve on November 5th, a month after sustaining the injury. With Murray out, the Cardinals will again rely on Jacoby Brissett as their starting quarterback this week against the Los Angeles Rams.

Brissett, 32, has struggled in the role, with a record of 1-6 this season. He has passed for 2,188 yards, including 13 touchdown throws and 4 interceptions. The Cardinals currently hold a disappointing 3-9 record this season, raising concerns about the future direction of the franchise without their star quarterback.

Backup duties will fall to Kedon Slovis as the team prepares for their matchup against the Rams, who sit at 9-3 this season. Murray's ongoing absence not only affects the team's performance but also raises questions regarding his long-term health and the impact on the Cardinals' as a franchise moving forward.

The situation remains fluid, and all eyes will be on Murray's recovery as the Cardinals continue to navigate a tough season.
