Timberwolves Coach Chris Finch Fined $35K for Official Spat

Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch has been fined $35,000 for using inappropriate language towards game officials and failing to leave the court in a timely manner after his ejection during a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The incident occurred during the first quarter of the Timberwolves' 112-107 victory on Friday, where Finch became enraged after a no-call on a play involving Thunder player Julius Randle. Finch was ejected after receiving two technical fouls for chasing referee John Butler and yelling at the officiating crew.

He had to be restrained by his assistant coaches and team security as he left the court to a roaring ovation with 6:19 remaining in the first quarter. Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and assistant coach Micah Nori credited Finch's passion for motivating the team in their win.

This fine highlights the ongoing tensions between coaches and officiating, with Finch now in his sixth season as head coach, boasting a record of 227-170 with the Timberwolves.
