Off-Court Incident: Nacua's Brother Arrested Over Theft
Full Transcript
Over the weekend, an off-court incident involving the brother of Los Angeles Rams player Puka Nacua has raised concerns within the Los Angeles Lakers community. According to Deadspin and ESPN, Samson Nacua, along with Trey Rose, both aged 27, were arrested for allegedly stealing a vehicle belonging to Lakers rookie forward Adou Thiero.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported that the two men were apprehended on Saturday afternoon after the vehicle was tracked to the 8400 block of Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, where they had valeted it and entered a hotel.
They were arrested for taking a vehicle without the owner's permission and were released later that night, as the authorities deemed insufficient grounds to file a complaint under California Penal Code Section 849(b).
Samson Nacua has a history of disciplinary issues, having been suspended for one game in the UFL earlier this year for slapping a fan. Thiero, the vehicle's owner, is a rookie who was part of a significant trade earlier this season, and his current performance statistics indicate he is still finding his footing in the league, averaging 1.1 points and 5.8 minutes over nine games.
The ongoing investigation has not yet provided further comments from the sheriff's department regarding the incident.
