The San Francisco Giants have taken significant steps to bolster their pitching staff ahead of the 2026 season by signing starting pitcher Adrian Houser and reliever Jason Foley. According to ESPN, Houser has agreed to a two-year, $22 million contract that includes a team option for the 2028 season.
In 2025, he posted an 8-5 record with a 3.31 ERA and 92 strikeouts, playing for both the Tampa Bay Rays and the Chicago White Sox. Over his nine-year career, Houser has a record of 40-44 with a 4.06 ERA across 174 games.
Meanwhile, the Giants signed Foley to a one-year deal worth $2 million. Foley, who missed the 2025 season due to shoulder surgery, previously led the Detroit Tigers with 28 saves in 2024. In his four seasons with the Tigers, Foley has a 3.16 ERA and has notched 35 saves in 210 appearances.
The Giants are optimistic about Foley's recovery and expect him to return to the mound by midseason, as reported by Deadspin. These moves indicate the Giants' commitment to enhancing their competitiveness in the league as they prepare for the upcoming season.
