The Los Angeles Angels have finalized their coaching staff for the 2026 season, adding Darryl Scott as assistant pitching coach, Dom Chiti as bullpen coach, and Derek Florko as assistant hitting coach.

General manager Perry Minasian announced these hires, which will support Kurt Suzuki in his first season as manager. Darryl Scott comes to the Angels after four seasons with the Colorado Rockies, where he served as the lead pitching coach.

Under Scott, the Rockies had the worst pitching staff in Major League Baseball in 2025, posting a 5.99 earned run average, significantly higher than the 29th-place Washington Nationals. Scott's extensive experience in professional baseball began with the Angels, having signed as an undrafted free agent in 1990 and making 16 relief appearances for the 1993 team.

Dom Chiti, 66, is an internal hire who previously worked as the minor league pitching coordinator. He has held the bullpen coach position for teams including the Rangers, Orioles, and Mets. Chiti replaces Steve Karsay, who served in that role for the past two seasons.

The Angels' bullpen struggled in 2025, ranking ahead of only the Rockies and Nationals with a 4.86 ERA. Derek Florko, now the assistant hitting coach, receives his first promotion to an MLB staff after four years as a hitting instructor in the Angels' farm system.

He will work alongside first-time hitting coach Brady Anderson and experienced assistant hitting coach John Mabry. The full coaching staff under Suzuki includes Mike Maddux as pitching coach, John Gibbons as bench coach, Adam Eaton as first base/outfield coach, Keith Johnson as third base coach, Andy Schatzley as infield coach, and Max Stassi as catching coach.

Additionally, Ray Montgomery, the former interim manager, is returning to the organization in a front office role after leading the club for the final months of the 2025 season following Ron Washington's health-related departure.
