In their first Big East game of the season, the Xavier Musketeers faced a significant setback, losing to the Creighton Bluejays by a score of 98-57 at the Cintas Center on December 17, 2025. The Musketeers fell behind early, trailing by double digits within the first ten minutes of the first half, and were down 49-22 at halftime.

Creighton's Austin Swartz was a standout performer, scoring 27 points with seven three-pointers, while Malik Messina-Moore led Xavier with 14 points and Roddie Anderson III contributed 12 points off the bench.

Xavier will look to rebound as they prepare to face Georgetown next. Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Bearcats had a different experience, defeating Alabama State 88-51, with Jizzle James returning to the team and scoring 16 points.

Baba Miller led Cincinnati with 26 points and 14 rebounds, as the team shot nearly 50 percent from the field. Cincinnati is set to play Clemson next on Sunday.
