Freshman Jazzy Davidson had a season-high 22 points and 12 rebounds, leading No. 16 Southern California to a 59-50 victory over No. 21 Washington on Sunday night. The win marked a significant moment for USC coach Lindsay Gottlieb, who became the fastest coach in program history to reach 100 wins, achieving this milestone in just 138 games.
The Trojans improved to 7-2 on the season and extended their home winning streak to 19 games at the Galen Center, their longest since a 48-game streak from 1981 to 1984. Davidson's pivotal 3-pointer gave USC the lead for good midway through the third quarter, helping spark a 9-0 run.
Despite a late push from Washington, where Sayvia Sellers contributed 20 points, USC closed out the game with a 6-0 run. Washington shot just 27 percent from the field and 24 percent from three-point range.
Up next, Washington will host Green Bay on Saturday, while USC prepares to face No. 1 UConn.
