Virginia Tech's men's basketball team concluded their non-conference schedule with an impressive 11-2 record, marking their best start since the 2022-23 season. The Hokies will begin their ACC play with a game against rival Virginia on Wednesday, December 31, at 2 p.m. at Cassell Coliseum, with coverage on ACC Network.
Notable performances during the non-conference slate included Neoklis Avdalas, who scored 33 points to lead the team to an overtime victory over Providence and also had a 30-point game against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Avdalas is recognized as one of two ACC athletes to achieve two such performances this season and has been named the ACC Rookie of the Week twice. Amani Hansberry has also been a standout, averaging 16.3 points and 8.4 rebounds, while contributing with five double-doubles.
Jaden Schutt has excelled as a three-point shooter, recording six triples against George Mason, while Ben Hammond has consistently scored in double figures.
