A 23-year-old Akron man, Donald Lamonte Brown, has been charged with felonious assault following a shooting incident at Diamond Royale strip club in Jackson Township. According to the Jackson Township Police, the shooting occurred around 3:14 a.m. on December 8, 2025, where a 25-year-old man was shot once.

The victim was transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center for treatment. Following the incident, police obtained arrest warrants for Brown, who was later arrested and booked into Stark County Jail on charges of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and possession of a firearm in a liquor permit premises, a third-degree felony.

Officials have stated there is no ongoing threat to the community and Brown is cooperating with the investigation. The club was scheduled to close at 2:30 a.m. on the night of the incident, but details regarding whether the shooting happened inside or outside the club remain unclear, as the establishment did not respond to requests for comment.
