Wildcuts Salon Welcomes Public Clients for Second Time
Full Transcript
Wildcuts Salon welcomed public clients for the second time this year, with 20 appointments scheduled as part of Warwick Valley High School's cosmetology program. Nearly 40 students participated, gaining hands-on experience in a real-world setting.
According to Kathleen Bettello, the program's instructor, this initiative allows students to practice their skills while providing free services to the community. Students like Saoirse Trazino expressed initial nerves but received positive feedback from clients, highlighting the importance of practical experience in their education.
The salon has been serving public clients since the 2017-2018 school year, and there are five more open dates for community members to take advantage of this unique opportunity, including January 15 and February 12 of next year.
This approach not only prepares students for their future careers but also fosters a sense of community engagement.
