New Hair Salon Opens in Carlisle City Centre

A new hair salon, Fringe Carlisle, has officially opened in the city centre of Carlisle. Located on Heads Lane, adjacent to The Sportsman Inn, the salon is co-owned by Sophie Mallinson and Leah Smethurst, who both have extensive experience in hairdressing, totaling 30 years combined.

The duo, who grew up on the same street and trained together at Boyds, have transformed a previously neglected space into a modern and welcoming environment. Since opening on December 2, the response has been overwhelmingly positive, with Leah noting they were fully booked on their first day.

The salon has already created a buzz in the community, with neighbors expressing support during their renovations. To celebrate their launch, Sophie and Leah will host an event where community members can enjoy prosecco and nibbles while exploring the new space.

They express deep gratitude for the support received so far, hoping patrons will love Fringe as much as they do.
