Children at the Lynn Rehabilitation Center in Miami experienced a festive holiday celebration with a grinchy twist, organized by The Miami Project. The event transformed a conference room into a How the Grinch Stole the Holidays wonderland, allowing pediatric patients from newborns to teenagers to enjoy games, crafts, and treats.
One parent expressed gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting the special nature of such events during challenging times. Meanwhile, in San Diego, Mayor Todd Gloria, alongside the Burn Institute and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, co-hosted a holiday celebration for over 250 burn survivors and their families.
This event featured a barbecue lunch, crafts, and a special appearance by Santa on a fire truck, emphasizing community support and connection for those facing the psychological and physical effects of burns.
Both events showcase the power of joy and belonging in uplifting the spirits of children and families during the holiday season.
