Meme Coin Chaos: Trump's Billionaires Club Cryptocurrency Plummets
Full Transcript
A new video game titled Trump Billionaires Club aims to revive the $TRUMP memecoin, which has plummeted 87% since its launch, erasing about $7.6 billion in value according to CoinGecko. The trailer features imagery of Donald Trump, asking players if they want to become billionaires, and promotes a lifestyle of luxury and wealth.
Players can earn $TRUMP tokens through gameplay and recruitment, but the game has faced criticism for its speculative nature and the potential for exploiting vulnerable investors. The game is being developed by Freedom 45 Games LLC under a licensing agreement with Trump and is led by businessman Bill Zanker, who has a long-standing relationship with Trump.
Zanker has previously launched other Trump-related projects, including NFTs, and organized private dinners to engage major token holders. Despite the game being marketed for entertainment, concerns about conflicts of interest and the use of Trump's image without direct affiliation to him or his family persist, as the presidential team dismisses such complaints.
The game is expected to launch in late December, available on Apple's App Store and web platforms.
