Full Transcript
SpaceX is continuing its dominance in the commercial space sector with multiple Starlink launches. On Wednesday morning, the Falcon 9 rocket is set to launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, carrying 27 broadband internet satellites as part of the Starlink 15-13 mission.
This marks SpaceX's 49th Starlink mission using Space Launch Complex 4 East. The Falcon 9 booster designated B1063 will be making its 30th flight, joining only two other boosters to reach this milestone.
Following liftoff at 7:22 a.m. PST, B1063 aims for an autonomous landing on the drone ship, Of Course I Still Love You, in the Pacific Ocean. In a related mission, SpaceX is also preparing for the Starlink 6-99 launch from Kennedy Space Center, adding 29 Starlink V2 Mini satellites to its constellation.
This launch is scheduled for 8:42 a.m. EST, with favorable weather conditions expected for liftoff, although the recovery weather may pose challenges for the booster landing on Just Read the Instructions in the Atlantic Ocean.
Currently, there are over 9,300 Starlink satellites in orbit, underscoring SpaceX's commitment to providing global internet coverage and its significant role in the commercial space industry.
