New Experimental Treatment for Deadly Brain Cancer in Singapore

Former NBA player Jason Collins is currently in Singapore receiving an experimental treatment for stage 4 glioblastoma, a deadly form of brain cancer. In an ESPN interview, Collins revealed that the cancer progressed rapidly, stating he could face death within weeks.

The treatment he is undergoing utilizes the EnGeneIC Dream Vector from the Australian biopharma company EnGeneIC, which functions as a Trojan horse, targeting proteins exclusive to glioblastomas to deliver toxic agents directly to the tumors.

Collins noted that the standard chemotherapy was ineffective due to the tumor's genetic makeup. The treatment is still in the trial phase and is only available on compassionate grounds, highlighting Singapore's reputation as a hub for medical innovation.
