Auxira Health, a virtual cardiology company based in Columbia, Maryland, has raised $7.8 million in seed funding to expand its operations. Co-developed by healthcare provider MedStar Health and investment firm Abundant Venture Partners, Auxira Health partners with cardiology practices and health systems, embedding virtual teams of advanced practice practitioners, medical assistants, and registered nurses as extensions of in-person care teams.

Each team member trains with physicians before transitioning to virtual care. This model helps shorten wait times, streamline follow-up workflows, reduce documentation burdens, and increase the number of patients each cardiologist can manage.

According to Inna Plumb, co-founder and CEO of Auxira Health, this approach allows cardiologists to focus on complex decision-making and long-term patient relationships while providing reliable support 24/7.

The funding round was led by Route 66 Ventures and Abundant Venture Partners, with participation from DigiTx Partners, American Heart Association Ventures, Ensemble Innovation Ventures, and City Light Capital.

Arif Sorathia, partner at Route 66 Ventures, emphasized that Auxira is addressing the pressing challenge of expanding access to high-quality cardiology care. The financing will enable Auxira to grow its partnerships, enhance technology infrastructure, and hire more clinicians and support staff, with the goal of supporting over 100 cardiologists by mid-2026.

Auxira also plans to expand its service offerings beyond cardiology as it addresses the growing demand for care amid a static supply of cardiologists, which has led to patients waiting weeks or months for appointments.

The company aims to solve this capacity crisis by integrating virtual teams that manage routine tasks and ensure timely patient attention. Other virtual cardiology startups include Heartbeat Health and Empallo.
