Veterans Day Parade Celebrates Service in Downtown Las Vegas
Full Transcript
The annual Las Vegas Veterans Day Parade will take place Tuesday morning, starting at 10 a.m. The parade route begins at 4th Street and Garces Avenue and concludes at 4th Street and Stewart Avenue. According to the Henderson-based Veterans Action Group, a flyover is scheduled to kick off the event at 10 a.m.
This year, veterans groups, active duty and reserve units, and members of the Nevada National Guard will participate, alongside first responders, marching bands, dance schools, and car clubs. The parade is considered the largest Veterans Day parade west of the Mississippi.
Road closures will commence at 7 a.m. and will last until noon, affecting 3rd Street between Charleston Boulevard and Garces Avenue and 4th Street between Charleston Boulevard and Stewart Avenue. The Veterans Action Group's mission is to honor the sacrifices made by veterans and their families.
The parade has been a fixture in Las Vegas since 1994, with the exception of 2020 due to the pandemic. This event not only celebrates military service but also fosters community pride and engagement. For more information, you can contact Bryan Horwath at the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
