Las Vegas Raiders' Henry Ruggs Transferred to Higher Security Prison
Full Transcript
Former Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs has been transferred to the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections. This transfer marks at least his fourth move since being sentenced in August 2023 for a deadly DUI car crash that killed 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog on November 2, 2021.
Ruggs was driving his Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at 156 miles per hour before the crash, with a blood alcohol level of 0.16 percent, twice the legal limit in Nevada. He was sentenced to three to ten years in prison after pleading guilty to felony DUI resulting in death and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.
Prior to this transfer, Ruggs had been serving his sentence at Casa Grande Transitional Housing, a facility for nonviolent offenders, after moving from High Desert State Prison and Stewart Concentration Camp.
Ruggs will be eligible for parole starting in August 2026. The Department of Corrections did not provide a reason for his transfer to a higher security prison.
