Las Vegas celebrated Hanukkah amid tight police security on December 15, 2025, following an antisemitic terror attack in Australia that resulted in 15 deaths. Events were held at the Clark County Government Center and City Hall Plaza with enhanced police presence monitoring the festivities.

Rabbi Shea Harlig of Chabad of Southern Nevada emphasized the importance of public celebrations, stating, 'The way we deal with it is not by hiding, but on the contrary by going out and doing more events to bring more light into the world.' Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley reaffirmed the city's stance against antisemitism, declaring, 'In the city of Las Vegas, we do not tolerate antisemitism, racism, discrimination or hatred of any kind.' The evening included performances by the Dancing Dreidels and concluded with a moment of silence honoring the victims of the Australian attack.

Commissioner Michael Naft echoed the message of resilience, stating, 'There is no better way for the Jewish community (or) any community to respond to darkness than with demonstrations of our power.' The Metropolitan Police Department reported bolstered officer presence at places of religious worship across the valley, urging the community to report any suspicious activities.
