Henderson Police Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting and Kidnapping Attempt

Henderson Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place Sunday morning around 9:43 a.m. in the 1000 block of Center Street. Officers responded to reports of a man attempting to kidnap a woman.

Captain Haven Tillmon stated that the woman managed to flee before police arrived and contacted the suspect near his vehicle. The suspect ignored commands from the officers, got into his vehicle, and drove toward them, prompting at least one officer to fire at him.

The man was struck but fled the scene. He was later located in a Las Vegas residence and taken to the University Medical Center, where he is in critical but stable condition. Tillmon mentioned that the man and the woman are believed to know each other but did not disclose further details about their relationship or their identities.
